Barbara Tucker est l’une des rares artistes à pouvoir sortir des projets sur son seul nom…

Ce nouveau titre enregistré avec Rick Galactik bénéficie d’une flopée de remixes sélectionnés par DJ Spen (Quantize) et Dave Clarke (Room Control).

Je commence par le mix de Linda Sikhosana et Floyd Nkonyane (aka Lilac Jeans), qui m’a le plus enthousiasmé. Dans un style Deep House polissé, les deux sud-africains donnent une couleur musicale qui colle parfaitement à la prestation vocale de Barbara et Rick.

Alfredo Norese nous propose une version Soulful avec une intro funky très réussie, tout comme le Sugar Groove Remix, Soulful également.

Malgré une partie instrumentale disco et luxueuse, le mix de David Fiorese ne parvient pas à faire « décoller le titre »… je lui préfère de loin le Dub, assez réussi.

Grosse déception je dois bien le dire avec les remixes de Kenny Carpenter et Big Moses… nos deux compères diluent leurs styles respectifs habituels avec des sonorités bizarroïdes qui ne collent pas à l’ensemble et dénotent comme un bouton au milieu du visage.
Cela me rappelle un peu les tentatives de Knuckles de faire évoluer son style à la fin des années 90’s, avant de trouver un son unique avec sa trademark Director’s Cut, bien aidé d’Eric Kupper il faut le dire.

Là encore, je préfère le Summer Dub de Kenny Carpenter à la version vocale.

En résumé, un package intéressant mais avec quelques mixes un peu décevants.
