After a short break Phunky Rabbit Records are back as strong as ever with Deep Echoes feat. Linnette – Bring It On. The track is a deep house flavour with added bonuses with Linnette Taylor giving us her world premiere vocal and DeepEchoes providing a really cool backdrop. Linnette is from South Manchester and although she has worked for many years doing covers in the clubs around Manchester this is her debut on the writing front. She has a strong soulful voice with plenty of variation from sweet melodies to solid hooks. She weaves her vocal so well around the backdrop from the DeepEchoes team. DeepEchoes consist of 4 members who are De Knon, MoSoule,Thabo and DJ Nhlekza. They all live in the same township of Durban called Umlazi Z section and formed their group on 2010. They have been growing large in their production and are based in Deep/Soulful/deeptech house music producing it and also deejaying. De Knon & Thabo are also guitarists and perform Afro Jazz music and a little blues live. Mark (Stan) Bonwick also gives us a beautiful sax performance on the track.

On the remixes first we have another South African team, Stones & Bones, who also play live instruments. Again this is another laid back deep mix with cleverly executed parts that all blend so well. Next we have Paolo Mixato who has featured on previous Phunky Rabbit remixes. Here he gives us his Acid Klass Remix which adds some variation to the package. Finally the DeepEchoes do another mix of the track to conclude the release in style with their Affection Mix.

La voix de Linnette Taylor sur Bring It On me rappelle un peu celle de Billie Ray Martin.

L’Original produit par les Deep Echoes est une bonne balade dans un style underground avec un excellent break spatial vers la fin du morceau.

Avec une rythmique plus travaillée et près de 10 minutes, l’Affection Mix offre une version club fort intéressante, bien qu’un peu répétitive à la longue.

Les deux autres mixes du package ne n’ont pas convaincu.
