SoulFunktion feat. Chad Saaiman : Legendary Lovers

Record-Label Info

Following on from the success of “Tease Me” and “Let Me Know” towards the end of 2013, the SoulFunktion production duo of Wally Walton and Brian “Keys” Tharme bring you the first piece of soulful goodness for 2014. We think the wait was worth it.

SoulFunktion feat. Chad Saaiman – Legendary Lovers

Featuring the stunning vocal talents of South African singer Chad Saaiman, SoulFunktion give the song their trademark classic vocal house treatment, but then bring in some heavyweight remixes to complete the package.

First up is Deep City Soul with an afro style vocal house remix, Alliance DC with their bumpier Baby Bump Remix, and finally a more tech based mix from deep house masters, Just Joe Amos and Max Britton. The package is completed by a SoulFunktion Twilight Dub.

This release was first aired at the Vocal Booth Weekender London Reunion 2013, but we have waited patiently to get the right remix selection to make sure this package has something for everyone.

Hope you like it as much as we do.

Chad Saaiman is a multi-talented South African singer, songwriter, recording artist. He has made a name for himself with his sultry voice, dulcet tones and handsome looks, but also as a hard-worker, someone who does not let obstacles stand in his way.

From penning several hit songs for top South African artists such as Loyiso Bala (for whom he wrote Found Love and the SAMA 2012 nominated track World of Mine), Chad moved on to recording his own soulful masterpieces, allowing his star to continue its rise on the South African music scene.

Chad released his debut album “Chasing Melodies” and quickly gained attention through three hit singles – Moving on, Seeing Stars and Won’t Change – as the album made its mark nationally, receiving a SAMA nomination for Best English Pop Album in 2009.
The success of his debut album attracted much attention – so much so that his second offering – “The Flight” spawned the single Untouchable, produced by two-time Grammy winner Ron Feemster, known for his work with icons Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo. Two other singles off the album – Thinking About You and Days Go By also topped the charts locally.

To top off the success of 2012, Chad was named at number 3 in the 2012 edition of GQ’s Best Dressed Men of the year and was chosen as one of SA’s 40 most remarkable men under 40 by Destiny Man. His talents go further as a freelance writer for publications such as TFG Man and Jet Club.

With influences like Stevie Wonder and John Mayer, Chad’s foundations have always been soulful, and his deep emotive connection with audiences makes him a popular artist. Brief sojourns in Spain and London helped him connect with an international music scene, something which is evident in his approach.

SoulFunktion is a collaboration between long standing London based DJ Wally Walton and the legendary UK House producer Brian Keys Tharme. First having worked together in the 90s on releases for a variety of labels including Sweat, Narcotic and Catch Records (in which Brian was a partner with Gavin Face Mills of Copyright fame), the boys are now back together with their 25 years of experience at the top of the UK club scene to bring you their new productions. In the intervening years, the boys have worked on remixes for some of the biggest names in House Music including Tuff Jam, En Vogue, Kristine Blonde, Usher, Tina Moore, CeCe Peniston, Juliet Roberts and Craig David to name a few. Brian has also played keyboards in the studio for the likes of Dave Lee (aka Joey Negro), Bobby & Steve and Booker T. During the same period DJ Wally could be found playing at the best clubs and parties on the London scene, including being resident at the notorious Roller Express rave venue throu ghout the 90s and more recently The Pirate Club and Black & White, and presenting a show on Pressure Radio and guesting on London’s Passion FM.

Manutek’s Review
