Tony Records is proud to present our newest summer single ‘Wonder Why’ by our very own Tony Humphries and DJ/Producer Junior White. They have joined forces with gospel singer Aaron K. Gray. While working on the remix of the Simon ‘Schooly’ & Lynn Lockamy’s infamous ‘Hostile Takeover’, Junior heard Aaron singing at a church in New York and presented this song to Tony to produce together. Aaron has sung with gospel greats such as Vickie Winans, John P. Kee, Donnie McClurkin, and Karen Clark Sheard. So we are honored to present his debut release on Tony Records!

The original ‘Vocal Mix’ is sure to take club goers to church and give them goose bumps with the layered vocals of Aaron combined with church piano chords and sophisticated strings. Next up, the ‘Thank You Lord Dub’ is a hype mix with a deeper groove revolving around Aaron’s uplifting and spirit felt vocals. To complete the package we also included the ‘Instrumental Mix’. Tony Humphries signe très rarement des chansons pour son propre label, j’étais donc impatient de découvrir ce titre Gospel House produit avec Junior White.

C’est Junior qui a amené ce projet à Tony Records après avoir entendu Aaron K. Gray chanter dans une église à New York.

Le Vocal Mix:star: est une version orientée Garage avec l’omniprésence du grand piano tout le long du morceau. Un peu à l’image des mixes de Tony Humphries au début des années 90’s.

La partie vocale, (main + chœurs) est somptueuse, le refrain à l’orgue hammond enivrant, les strings disco envoûtantes.

On appréciera d’ailleurs d’autant plus la qualité de l’instrumentation sur les 8’20 » de l’Instrumental Mix.

Le Thank You Lord Dub est assez répétitif sur les premières minutes mais offre quelques passages intéressants.
