This is the second release on the new SoulFunktion Records label following on from Daybreak feat Roz Brown.

The Underground Seduction EP features 2 mixes each of 2 tracks – Underground Language and Seduction.

Underground Language Original Mix is the deepest most soulful house. With a unique groove and messed up vocal, it will take you on a musical dance floor inspired journey. House Music is an Underground Language.

The Deep Summer Dub of Underground Language uses the same deep house feeling, but with a Balearic twinge, tougher deep house beats and a summer Ibiza main room vibe.

Seduction brings a retro early 80s feel to an upfront deep house vibe, mixing early 80s electro sounds with deep house beats.

SoulFunktion is a collaboration between longstanding London based DJ Wally Walton and the legendary UK House producer Brian Keys Tharme.

First having worked together in the 90s on releases for a variety of labels including Sweat, Narcotic and Catch Records (in which Brian was a partner with Gavin Face Mills of Copyright fame), the boys are now back together with their 25 years of experience at the top of the UK club scene to bring you their new productions.

In the intervening years, the boys have worked on remixes for some of the biggest names in House Music including Tuff Jam, En Vogue, Kristine Blonde, Usher, Tina Moore, CeCe Peniston, Juliet Roberts and Craig David to name a few. Brian has also played keyboards in the studio for the likes of Dave Lee (aka Joey Negro), Bobby & Steve and Booker T. During the same period DJ Wally could be found playing at the best clubs and parties on the London scene, including being resident at the notorious Roller Express rave venue throughout the 90s and more recently The Pirate Club and presenting a show on Pressure Radio.

Si je reste un fan inconditionnel de Soulful, j’apprécie cependant aussi les bons dubs Pumpin’ très travaillés, à la sauce Grant Nelson, Shur-I-Kan ou Jeremy Sylvester par exemple.

Cette deuxième production du label SoulFunktion Productions a retenu mon attention par sa richesse de sons et ses nombreux Fx’s.

Les 4 mixes du duo Wally Walton & Brian Tharme sont assez intéressants, ma préférence allant à l’Original Mix d’Underground Language.

J’ai également bien accroché sur le Deep Summer Dub de Seduction avec sa grosse basse bien House.

Brian a joué les claviéristes dans le passé pour Joey Negro ou Booker T et l’on reconnait facilement certaines sonorités comme celle des synths utilisés pour les mixes de Dave Lee et Gary Booker.
